Chloë Sevigny Returns to Miu Miu Runway After Nearly Three Decades

The acclaimed actress Chloë Sevigny made a striking return to the Miu Miu catwalk, participating in the luxury brand’s Fall 2026 presentation. Known for her fearless approach to fashion and intellectual style, Sevigny perfectly captures the essence of what Miu Miu represents in contemporary fashion.

For her runway appearance, Sevigny showcased a distinctive ensemble featuring a weathered leather jacket that seamlessly transitioned into rich ochre fur at the hem. She paired this statement piece with a knitted mini dress that echoed similar textural elements. The look was completed with brown leather clogs, square-framed eyewear, and her hair styled back with a retro zigzag headband that added a nostalgic touch.

This marks a significant reunion between Sevigny and the Italian fashion house, as her relationship with Miu Miu dates back to the mid-1990s. During the Spring 1996 collection presentation, the young actress made multiple runway appearances, showcasing four different looks throughout the show. Her outfits ranged from motorcycle-inspired jackets paired with tailored Bermuda shorts and heeled mules to more daring combinations featuring bralettes and transparent knee-length skirts.

Beyond the runway, Sevigny also became the face of Miu Miu’s advertising campaigns during that era, modeling eccentric minimalist pieces crafted in plaid patterns and neutral tones. She later reprised her role as a brand ambassador in 2012, further cementing her connection to the fashion house.

The Fall 2026 show featured several other notable personalities from the fashion and entertainment worlds. Supermodel Gemma Ward, who dominated runways in the early 2000s, made her own comeback appearance. Ward, who had also walked for Alaïa earlier in the week, wore a scalloped mini dress layered with a sheer, embellished overlay, paired with sneakers, oversized floral earrings, and the same signature headband worn by Sevigny.

The casting choices reflected the collection’s exploration of 1990s and early 2000s aesthetics. Following Ward was Kristen McMenamy, an iconic figure from the grunge fashion movement of the 1990s. McMenamy presented a similar silhouette in an alternative color scheme, her silver hair flowing freely as she walked.

The show reached its climax with actress Gillian Anderson serving as the finale model. Anderson, celebrated for her role in The X Files during the 1990s and continuing her successful career today, wore a knee-length sheer dress adorned with golden accents and substantial brown heels. Her blonde hair was slicked back, complemented by minimal makeup for an effortlessly elegant finish.

Miu Miu operates as the more youthful counterpart to Prada, with Miuccia Prada designing for both labels while incorporating more playful and experimental elements into the former. However, the inclusion of mature personalities like the 51-year-old Sevigny alongside Anderson, McMenamy, and Ward demonstrates the sophisticated universe that Prada has cultivated around the brand.

The designer has built a reputation for unconventional casting decisions, frequently incorporating non-professional models alongside industry veterans. Previous presentations have featured diverse personalities including Kyle MacLachlan, Ethel Cain, Sandra Hüller, and Sara Paulson, among others. While the current fashion season has seen various brands employ celebrity casting for shock value, Prada’s approach transcends mere headline-grabbing tactics. Her selections focus on individuals who bring their own compelling narratives and cultural significance to the brand’s story, with each of these accomplished women contributing their unique legacy to the Miu Miu narrative.
