Bon Appétit Announces Inaugural Pantry Awards Program for 2026

Bon Appétit magazine has revealed plans to launch its first-ever Pantry Awards program, scheduled to debut in summer 2026. The publication’s editorial team dedicates significant time throughout the year to discovering and evaluating emerging food products, from innovative snacks to essential kitchen staples.

The awards program represents a formalization of the magazine’s ongoing product evaluation process. Editors continuously search for exceptional new items that demonstrate innovation, quality, and taste appeal. To ensure comprehensive coverage of the marketplace, the publication is inviting food manufacturers and brands to submit their products for editorial review.

Submission Guidelines and Requirements

Product Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for consideration, products must have been introduced to market between January 1, 2025, and May 31, 2026. Additionally, all submitted items must be commercially available for purchase throughout the United States at the time of submission.

Application Process and Key Dates

The submission deadline is set for May 31, 2026. Companies interested in participating must complete an online application form to nominate their products. When submitting product lines that include multiple flavor variations, brands should consolidate all flavors into a single application.

Following the submission period, product samples must be made available for editorial testing by June 1, 2026. The magazine’s team will reach out directly to brands whose products they wish to evaluate. Companies are advised against sending unsolicited samples, as these may not receive proper review attention.

Award Categories

The Pantry Awards will recognize excellence across five primary product categories:

  • Snack foods, including chips, crackers, and popcorn varieties
  • Non-alcoholic beverages
  • Condiments and sauces, encompassing hot sauces, pasta sauces, spreads, and salad dressings
  • Essential pantry items such as cooking oils, pasta, grains, canned products, and spices
  • Sweet treats, including chocolate, confectionery, and baked goods

Products that don’t align perfectly with these established categories are still welcome for submission, with final eligibility determined during the review process.
